Our Story
Born out of a love for the outdoors, a love for pushing the limits, and a small garage workshop: Defy Outdoor Products & Equipment.
We are a husband and wife team, working hard and playing hard in Central Oregon. Over the last few years, as we have been able to spend more time outside, adventuring - we noticed there was something missing in the outdoor gear space.
We started Defy Outdoor Products & Equipment in order to fill that gap: functional and aesthetically understated equipment that could withstand any abuse a person could put it through. We knew we couldn't possibly be the only people who don't enjoy coming upon an alpine lake at sunrise... to admire all of the brightly colored gear? No. We aim to make gear that not only stands out for its funcionality, but also blends in with the outdoors instead of distracting you from it.
All of our products are designed and tested in the heart of Central Oregon, where sun and snow wreak havoc on everything they touch; our products are tested on the trails, on the water, on the range, and on the black top. Wherever you want to push yourself, our gear has been there and will be with you every step of the way.

ABOUT US: Nate is an ultra-marathoner with a background in firearms, manufacturing, and design. Sam is a Language Arts teacher with a passion for design and the outdoors. Nate does the running, Sam does the crewing and cooking. We have an incredible blended family, with two incredible boys who keep us on our toes and the bike-jumps shaped.
